French representative of the World Women's March shared a call issued by the Kurdish section of the movement.
The statement expressed support for Kurdish women and emphasized that they have a secular, federalist and feminist project that aims for peace that counters political reactionary stances.
Reminding that a large number of Kurdish female prisoners are on a hunger strike protesting the repressive practices of the Turkish government violating international law, the statement pointed out that it is necessary to break the silence to counter the Turkish government illegalities.
HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven, who has been on hunger strike for 76 days is among the hunger strikers, recalled the statement, underlining that her health status is bad. The statement added that Güven is nearing death, and urgently called for a massive action.
In calling for components of the World Women's March all over the world, all feminist movements were asked to sign their call and show their solidarity.
The statement demanded the sharing of the appeal of the Kurdish section of the World Women's March.
In 2000, more than 6,000 women's movement members in 161 countries participated in the World Women's March which took its first step in Canada's French-speaking Quebec region.
