Flags of the Turkish state and the YPG are waving in the village of Ashme where the tomb of Suleyman Shah is set to be relocated.

The tomb of Suleyman Shah was moved yesterday from the village of Karakozak on the banks of the Euphrates where it was under an ISIS blockade. Turkish troops and YPG/YPJ forces carried out a joint operation in the evening to evacuate the tomb. While the remains of Suleyman Shah and other valuable artefacts were taken to Turkey, preparations have begun to relocate the tomb on a hillock in the village of Ashme which is under the control of YPG/YPJ forces.

The village, to the west of Kobanê city, was liberated from the clutches of ISIS gangs around 10 days ago by YPG/YPJ forces. The new site for the tomb is only 100 metres from the border.

Concurrently with the operation on the tomb, Turkish tanks and soldiers started works for the new site in the village. Turkish soldiers who remain in the area with 10 tanks have started excavation and ground works with diggers and bulldozers. A Turkish flag is waving at the new site which has been surrounded with wire fences.

Flags of the YPG/YPJ and a poster of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan are on the other hand waving on the highest building in the village, 20-30 km to the new location of the tomb, which YPG/YPJ are using as a headquarters.

YPG/YPJ have also taken intense measures on the Martyr Hogir Hill overlooking the entire area which involves the new site of the Suleyman Shah tomb.
