YPG Press Office has announced the ID of the Australian YPG fighter who lost his life in the operation against the ISIS gangs in Til Hemis.
The name of the Australian fighter is reportedly Asê Johnston with the nom de guerre Bagok Serhed.
“YPG/YPJ fighters have waged a historic resistance against the gangs on behalf of human values. Freedom fighter Johnson also turned his face to Rojava for the defence of values of humanity and took part in this resistance. Johnson joined the fight at many points ranging from Serakaniye to Sinjar and lastly in Til Hemis, where he honourably fought against the gangs and fell in the fight”, said the statement of the YPG.
YPG offered their condolences to the family of Johnson and to the people of Australia.
“Ase Johnson, code named Bagok Serhed, born in Australia has lost his life in the Xesan village of Til Hemis on 23 February 2015”, added the statement.
