The YPG/YPJ forces are continuing their advance in the city of Kobanê and are carrying out actions in surrounding villages. YPG forces launched an attack on ISIS gang positions in the Sukul Hal, Municipality street and Azadi Square in the eastern neighbourhoods of Kobanê. While some points were taken from the gangs, 9 ISIS members were killed in clashes in the north east.

Some points taken from gangs

The YPG Press Centre has stated that attacks by ISIS gangs on Kobanê are continuing for a 74th day, and that the advance of YPG/YPJ fighters in the city is continuing with operations also being carried out in surrounding villages. The YPG Press Centre statement read: “Last night attacks were carried out on groups of gang members in the Sukul Hal, Municipality street and Azadi Square areas. Some points on Municipality street were taken from the gangs. Our forces also consolidated their positions in the north eastern neighbourhoods of the city, where 9 gang members were killed in clashes.”

The statement added that the YPG and YPJ forces had also found the corpses of 7 gang members during mopping up operations in these areas. The YPG Press Centre said there had been minor clashes on the southern front and that YPG forces had carried out an operation against gang members around the village of Menicê 10 km west of Kobanê. 4 gang members were reported killed during this operation.
