YPG take control of villages

YPG (People's Defense Units) have finally liberated the village of Çafa (in the province of Serêkaniyê). The village had been taken over by armed gangs linked to al-Qaida on 14 September.

YPG begun an operation to free the villages of Elok and Çafa from the violent al-Nusra Front and Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS). The operation is still going on. On Monday heavy clashes were reported well into the early hours of this morning. It is reported that finally the members of the islamic armed gangs were forced to leave the village at around 2.30 this morning. YPG confirmed to have seized several weapons and ammunition.

It is reported that clashes are still going on in the surroundings of the villages of Çafa Mişrafa and Çafa Dirdara.

YPG also confirmed to have liberated the area of Tirbespiyê, used by the islamic gangs as their headquarter.
