49 ISIS members killed in Operation Cizire Storm

SDF Press Office announced that 49 ISIS members have been killed in the final phase of the Operation Cizire Storm.

The Press Office of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) released a statement about the latest situation in the last phase of the Operation Cizire Storm, campaign to “defeat terror” launched against ISIS to the east of the Euphrates on September 11.

Full text of the statement is as follows;

“Fighting erupted between our fighters and ISIS terrorists around al-Baghouz village. Our fighters destroyed a bomb-laden car of the terrorists before it reached its target and many mercenaries were killed. Our forces advanced 1 km and established their points in the area.

ISIS mercenaries attacked the positions of our fighters from several directions. During ensuing clashes, a number of mercenaries were killed, while the International Coalition aircraft targeted the terrorists.

Our forces advanced some 600 meters and got stationed in several locations following clashes with the terrorists around the town of Hajin. A vehicle and a motorcycle of the mercenaries were destroyed.

Our fighters seized a number of arms and a large quantity of ammunition belonging to the mercenaries.

The mines planted by ISIS in the area are being defused by our expert teams.

International Coalition aircraft destroyed a bomb-laden vehicle and hit several points where mercenaries were stationed.”

SDF Press Office announced the following figures from the ongoing battle:

10 points were established.

49 terrorists were killed.

4 vehicles, 3 motorcycles, 7 bases and 2 ammunition dumps were destroyed.

International Coalition aircraft targeted the terrorists 17 times.

Our fighters seized 6 ammunition stores and one 23-DShK machine.
