Diseases spread in Shehba due to lack of medications

Contagious diseases have started to spread in the Shehba due to the lack of medications in the region. Heyva Sor a Kurd officials called on aid organizations for urgent support.

Hundreds of thousands of people have had to migrate to the Shehba region due to the in Turkish state’s barbaric attacks against Afrin.

Kurdish Red Crescent Heyva Sor a Kurd now continues its efforts in the Shehba region after the invasion of Afrin, but is having great troubles due to lack of access to certain medications.

Thousands of citizens of Afrin who have been settled in the Serdem and Berxwedan camps have no access to medical services due to both limited resources, and insufficient equipment. Diseases like pulmonary inflammations and measles have started to spread in the camps.

Heyva Sor a Kurd continues to treat citizens with the limited resources they have, and have to resort to bringing in medications from Aleppo.

Heyva Sor a Kurd Member Reshid Resho said they need medications to continue treating the people.

Resho called on aid organizations for urgent support and added that they have issued similar calls several times in the past, but they didn’t receive any reply.
