French MP visits Autonomous Administration

The delegation and MSD representatives repeated the demand to have the ISIS members put on trial in an international court and also discussed the issue of repatriating the gang members under arrest.

The French Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee Chairperson Marielle de Sarnez visited the Northern and Eastern Syrian Autonomous Administration and held several meetings.

The delegation made up of Marielle de Sarnez and Northern and Eastern Syrian Autonomous Administration’s Representative for France Xalid Isa visited the Northern and Eastern Syrian Autonomous Administration headquarters in Ayn Isa.

The French delegation were received by Autonomous Administration Executive Council Co-chairs Ebid Hamid Al Mihbash and Berivan Xalid, Autonomous Administration Foreign Relations Bureau Co-chair Abdulkerim Umer and Executive Council Deputy Co-chair Elizabet Gewriye.

The co-chairs gave a short briefing on the Autonomous Administration’s efforts and the delegation members stated that the Autonomous Administration’s best response to current issues is to build up democracy.

The delegation later visited the Democratic Syrian Council (MSD). They were received by MSD Co-chair Emine Omer, MSD Foreign Relations Bureau Members Ferhat Ehme and Jiyan Mela as well as MSD Women’s Bureau Member Dibeya Nasir.

MSD Foreign Relations Bureau Members Ferhat Ehme said: “Our current efforts are to take down the secret cell structures of ISIS, to rebuild the areas damaged in clashes and to ensure migrants can return home.”

The delegation and MSD representatives repeated the demand to have the ISIS members put on trial in an international court and also discussed the issue of repatriating the gang members under arrest.

The French delegation also stressed that the MSD needs a wider working area and mission to be able to take a more active role in the solution to the crisis in Syria.
