Kongreya Star: Common resistance will defeat all threats

“The Turkish state must leave the areas it has occupied. Because the existence of the Turkish state in the Syrian territory has no meaning other than occupation and fascism", said Kongreya Star Coordination.

Kongreya Star Coordination issued a written statement on the Turkish state’s threats to invade Northern and Eastern Syria and on the almost simultaneously US decision to withdraw its troops from the region.

The statement underlined that the Turkish state’s extensive attacks against the Syrian people, carried out together with DAESH mercenaries, are continuing.

The statement also recalled the historic resistance against DAESH in Kobanê emphasing the persistence of the Kurdish people in the fight against terrorism.

Kongreya Star also underlined that great achievements have been reached with the resistance of the peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria.

The statement continued:

“During this resistance relations started to be developed in the fight against terrorism in line with the request of the International Coalition. Within this framework, the resistance against DAESH and other mercenaries has been carried out successfully until today and millions of people and children have been rescued from DAESH captivity.

In the first phase, the relations established with the International Coalition were known to be tactical. Because the International Coalition is also pursuing its own interests, not the interests of the people. It should be clear that none of the political and military concepts carried out by the external states in Syria are actually for the people’s interest. These concepts also block possible political solutions.

The strength of the solution, as seen in history, is provided not by external interventions but by the strength of the people.”

The statement stressed that the resistance of YPG / YPJ and SDF forces and the fact that DAESH mercenaries are destined to disappear in the region confirmed that the people of the region will never accept the obstacles created by the external states.

“The Turkish state must leave the areas it has occupied. Because the existence of the Turkish state in the Syrian territory has no meaning other than occupation and fascism. The most significant response to the threats of the Turkish state is the popular resistance led by women and common resistance of the people in all four parts of Kurdistan”.

A solution process, ended the statement, “is only possible through the resistance of peoples based on dialogue and negotiation. Solution processes have always succeeded with the protection of the achievements, high consciousness and organization. On this basis, peoples, especially women, should be prepared for new processes and should mobilise to protect their achievements.”
