MSD Co-chair: Dialogue is key to solve the Syrian crisis

The Syrian Democratic Council insisted that dialogue is the key to provide a solution to Syrian crisis.

The Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) has organized a meeting in the Tabqa Democratic Civil Council building to assess the latest developments in the region. Dozens of local residents and members of civil institutions attended the meeting.

Speaking there, MSD co-chair, Riyadh Derar, described the projects related to the solution of the Syrian crisis, and referred to the fact that the Syrian crisis is entering its 8th year and clearly the military way is not providing a solution.

Derar emphasised that the crisis can be solved through political dialogue.

Derar also pointed out that the so-called opposition could not reach its goals and settled for helping the states that support them to achieve their political interests.

To end his remarks, Derar said that Arab states had preferred to not engage in the Syrian crisis for fear to get into their countries the democracy and freedom experiences implemented in the region. Thus they prefer to give military support to these groups in order to continue the civil war in the region.

The MSD co-chair also added: “We sat at the table with the Syrian regime which unfortunately did not show an engaging attitude so far and kept imposing conditions”.
