MSD’s Ehmed: The door for dialogue is always open

Ehmed said that "the Turkish government was looking at the democratic projects in Northern Syria as an enemy, and wanted to prevent these projects from succeeding and create confusion in the region”.

A public meeting was organized by Girê Spî Canton Council to assess developments in Syria and the region.

The meeting, held at the Martyr Emar Al-Hesen Academy, was attended by hundreds of people, including political executives of the region, tribal representatives, members of civil institutions and canton administrators.

Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) Executive Council member Ilham Ehmed spoke about the developments in Syria.

Referring to the attacks carried out by the Turkish army, Ehmed said that the attacks were not something new.

“The Turkish state - Ehmed said - always tries to disturb the security in Northern Syria and Syria in general. Turkey has attacked Homs and Hama recently, using its mercenaries for its interests in Syria”.

Ehmed said that "the Turkish government was looking at the democratic projects in Northern Syria as an enemy, and wanted to prevent these projects from succeeding and create confusion in the region”.

Ehmed said that the murder of Sheikh Beshir Faysal al-Hiwêdî was a provocation and an attempt to put the peoples of the region one against the other.

Ilham Ehmed also condemned the international silence on the attacks and concluded the speech saying: “We always leave the door of dialogue open to the solution of the Syrian crisis. The solution should be provided on a proper basis, and a general consensus should be sought on the Syrian constitution to guarantee the rights of all peoples”.
