People of Afrin: We will liberate our city

The people of Afrin vowed to resist and underlined their will to return to their houses and land. 

The people of Afrin who were forced to leave their houses after the Turkish invasion in March 2018 resettled amidst thousand difficulties in Shehba.

Speaking to ANHA, the people of Afrin vowed to resist and underlined their will to return to their houses and land. 

Salam Ebo from the village of Kurzêlê in Afrin said:  "Almost a year and a half has passed since the occupation of Afrin, and we are still struggling in Shehba. We live in semi-destroyed houses and camps. We face many difficulties going from a winter cold to a hot summer. We are facing the shortage of medical drugs and the negligence of humanitarian organizations to provide assistance."

Ebo stressed that they continue to resist with "the weapon we have, our will. And we will continue to resist until the liberation of Afrin."

Khadija Ali from Rajo said that the Turkish occupation is targeting the will and morale of the people of Afrin "but they won't succeed."

Khadija Ali said that the Syrian regime and Russia still remain silent on the Turkish occupation's violations in Afrin, and added: "They are not talking about what is happening in Afrin. The Turkish occupation is shelling our houses and they are still keeping silent. The will of the people of Afrin will prevail and will liberate Afrin."

Bakr Aliko from Afrin is staying in the village of Tel-Qarah in Shehba. Aliko added that despite the bad conditions they are forced to live in the "people of Afrin resist and will liberate its city."
