Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) held a series of meetings in villages of Raqqa to assess the political and military developments in the region. Raqqa Civilian Council Co-chair Mishleb Al Derwish, MSD representatives, Syrian Future Party administrators and thought and local clan leaders as well as large numbers of local residents attended the first meeting held in the Retla village.

Al Darwish said the peoples of Syria who have been waging a struggle for freedom and peace have been going through a rough time: “Those who want to destroy our region and fracture Syria should know that we as the peoples of the land are united as one.”

Culture and Arts Committee Co-chair Hesen El Mistefa said: “We won’t negotiate over our lands. Our forces who cleared the region of terrorists will also respond to any and all attacks.”

The meeting ended after participants proposed their assessments.

Raqqa Civilian Council and the MSD met with Eastern Raqqa residents with the same agenda as well. The meeting held in the Al Kerame school was attended by local clan sheiks and opinion leaders as well as local residents.
