People of Serêkaniyê protest Turkish attacks and US decision

Peoples in Serêkaniyê protested the invasion attacks by the Turkish state and condemned the US decision targeting PKK administrators.

At a time when ISIS gangs are about to be cleared out of Syria completely, the Turkish state has attacked Northern Syria, governed with a democratic system. The people of Serêkaniyê and Zirgan took to the streets today to protest the attacks and chanted “Bijî Berxwedana Rojava” against the invading Turkish state. The protesters also condemned the US decision against leaders of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement.

“NORTHERN SYRIA WON’T BOW DOWN”

Peoples of Serêkaniyê and Zirgan marched to the Martyrs Boulevard, holding up YPG/YPJ flags and posters of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Murat Karayilan, Cemil Bayik and Duran Kalkan.

After the march, Martyrs Families Assembly Member Abdulrezzak Ehmed read a statement written in the name of the people of Serêkaniyê.

The statement said:

“The Turkish state should know that the peoples of Northern Syria with all the constituents won’t bow down like you wish they would. We are a people, and we have proven to the world that we don’t bow down, and we have no path but resistance. As the people of Northern Syria with all our constituents we have proven once again that we stand against the invasion and we will never bow down.

TO THE US: DON’T FOLLOW THE TURKISH STATE

As the people of Serêkaniyê we declare our support for the leaders of freedom and democracy who light our path. We will continue our fight until the peoples are free. Our call to the US is to not follow the Turkish state, the enemy of the peoples of the region, and to stand with the people.”
