People of Tirbespiyê defend Democratic Nation Project

After the struggle of the Syrian peoples to achieve their basic rights, for a period of time, a free and democratic system called democratic nation project has been developing.

The Kurdish, Arab, Syriac and Yazidi peoples living in the district of Tirbespiyê in the Jazira region spoke to ANHA and reaffirmed that the democratic nation project defends the values of the peoples of the region and strengthens the bond between the peoples.

The citizens of the area said that the crisis in Syria and the conflict between the different segments should be addressed by embracing the democratic nation system which will save Syria from breaking into pieces.

The people also said, that the democratic nation project is the model addressing the issue of overcoming the patriarchal society and mentality.

Co-Chair of Tirbespiyê Provincial Council, Ebdulrehim Hiso, said that the democratic opening of councils, communes and municipalities is a product of a democratic nation project.

Pointing out that the peoples of the region have decided to exercise their freedom and will, Ebdulrehim added that the project of democratic nation appeared to be the way of life together after 7 years [of war].

He said that the capitalist states, especially the occupying Turkish state, saw the multi-colored democratic nation project as a threat to the nation-state systems, which only promote one color and one flag. This is the reason why, he said, they have waged a war against Northern and Eastern Syria.

Ebdulrehim also pointed out that the only solution for the Syrian crisis is the project of a democratic nation, and that meetings such as Astana and Geneva will not respond to the Syrian crisis.

A member of the Tirbespiyê Defense Committee from the Syriac identity, Corc Yusif, said that the defense committee was formed in a democratic manner and defended all sections and classes in the region.

Yusif emphasized that although the experience of the democratic nation project is new, it is proving itself developing the society.

Yusif called on all Syrian peoples to rely on the experience of the Northern Syrian democratic nation project for the solution of the crisis, noting that the project guarantees the rights of all sectors and classes and ensures that all sections maintain their culture equally and freely.
