PYD went to Congress in Qenaya district of Kobanê

The 1st Congress of the PYD in Qenaya District of Kobanê was held on Friday with the motto "Let's liberate Afrin, build a decentralized democratic Syria".

The 1st Congress of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) administration in Qenaya District of Kobanê was held on Friday with the motto "Let's liberate Afrin, build a decentralized democratic Syria".

Annual activity reports were read, works of the party were assessed and proposals were made during the congress, while 14 people -9 of them women- were elected for the new administration.

In his opening speech PYD co-chair Shahoz Hesen said that the invading Turkish state wanted to restore the Ottoman Empire system and that Erdogan was trying to impose himself as a caliph of Kurds, Arabs, Armenians and Assyrian-Syriac peoples.

Shahoz Hesen stressed that the Turkish state is seeking to eliminate the Democratic Nation project and insisted that “everyone is preparing plans against us. We need to be careful and alert about these plans. We must be ready for the construction of Democratic Nation politics.”

Mihemed Şêxî, who spoke on behalf of the Martyrs' Families Council, saluted the first congress and said that with the sacrifices of the martyrs, the PYD has come to this day and the PYD is a party of martyrs fighting for the democratic nation.

Speaking on behalf of Kongreya Star, Heyfa Muslim underlined the great resistance the people of the region are staging.

Mihemed Dalelî on behalf of the Syrian Future Party also stressed the resistance of the peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria.
