Raqqa MSD: We want a political solution for Syria

“Our people fought against DAESH to secure the freedom of the city and the SDF are still fighting against DAESH.”

The Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) held a meeting with the Raqqa Civic Assembly to assess the recent developments in the region.

The meeting was held at the El-Tac Hall, and saw the participation of members of the Syrian Future Party, members of the civil society and dozens of residents.

Speaking at the meeting, Raqqa Reconstruction Committee Member Abdullah El-Eryan said: “We will not forget the massacres carried out by DAESH terrorists against the people of Raqqa and Syria. Our people fought against DAESH to secure the freedom of the city and the SDF are still fighting against DAESH.”

Hesen al-Mistefa, Co-Chair of the Culture and Arts Committee of the Raqqa Civil Assembly, said: “There have been many political changes throughout Syria. We declare that we never asked to any country for military support. Kobanê is an example of the great resistance of our forces against DAESH. We live in peace thanks to the great sacrifices and achievements of our forces in Raqqa, the capital of DAESH.”

Cihat Umer, Co-chair of the MSD Relations Committee, said: “The MSD did not close the doors to any political formation for the permanent solution of the Syrian crisis. At present, we are ready to enter into dialogue with the states that want peace for Syria.”
