SDF fighters continue to advance in the operation against the Hajin town, the last “fort” still occupied by ISIS gangs in the Deir ez-Zor region.

The final phase launched as part of the Operation Cizire Storm aims to “defeat terrorism”.

Reports say SDF fighters struck heavy blows to ISIS gangs in the Upper Baxoz village and assumed control of the bridge that allows transit between the village and Al Buqamal town.

Intense clashes broke out between SDF fighters and ISIS gangs in the region.

ONE GANG LEADER CAPTURED

The gangs suffered another heavy loss at a different location on the same day. According to the SDF Press Center, gang leader Abu Hajir Al Shami was captured by SDF fighters in the Baghouz front where clashes intensify in Deir ez-Zor.

SDF fighters had advanced 2 kilometers in the vicinity of the Al Suse village of Deir ez-Zor on Monday.

The final phase in the Operation Cizire Storm launched on September 11. The operation targets the Hajin town, which shares a border with Iraq. This region to the east of the Euphrates River is considered the last fortress still under ISIS occupation.
