Syrian Revolutionary Youth against Turkish occupation

The Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement in Shehba organised an event on January 27, the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Avesta Khabour.

The Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement in Afrin and Shehba regions organized an action at the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Avesta Khabour, a young woman from Afrin, was martyred during the resistance against Turkish attacks in the city.

The youth denounced the aggravated isolation imposed upon the Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan, and expressed their support for the indefinite hunger strike campaign that was initiated by DTK Co-chair and HDP MP Leyla Guven and later joined by political prisoners in Turkey, and activists in Kurdistan and abroad.

The three-day event is taking place in Fafin district, with the participation of youth from the Berxwedan (Resistance) IDP camp, Babnis village, Fafin district and the Culture and Art Center. Representatives from Kongreya Star and the Self-Administration visited the event and expressed their solidarity with the young activists.

A statement on behalf of the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement was read by an administrative member, Asma Mustafa, in Kurdish. A number of musical compositions were performed by the Golden Crescent music band and a clipart was screened.
