Villages on Rojava border line targeted by Turkey

With the beginning of the Rojava Revolution, there had been an increase in the Turkish state’s attacks against villages along the border line. Turkey targets civilian residential areas and sacred sites, opening harassment fire on residential areas.

The invading Turkish state has increased its attacks against the villages along the border between Northern Syria-Rojava and Northern Kurdistan after the Rojava Revolution began. They open fire on the villagers almost every day to intimidate them and force them to migrate.

The Til Cihan village, 15 km northwest of the Tirbespiyê district, is 300 meters from the border. Kurds and Syriacs live together in the village, which has been under harassment fire by the invading Turkish state for the last 6 years.

All homes and places of worship in the village are ridden with bullet holes. Ehmed Chachan from the Til Cihan village said the invading Turkish state has been violating international laws with their attacks against the village since the beginning of the Rojava Revolution.

VILLAGERS LIVE IN FEAR

Ehmed Chachan said the invading Turkish army fires harassment shots in to the village with various weapons: “The villagers live in fear, and can’t move around in ease in the village.”

Syriac citizen Seyide Ishoi stressed that the invading Turkish state has targeted the Kurdish, Arab and Syriac peoples with their violent massacres and added: “For centuries the Kurds and Syriacs have lived together in this village, but now the Turkish state is targeting our peaceful life.”

VILLAGE CHURCH TARGETED BY TURKISH ARMY

Seyide Ishoi said the Turkish state doesn’t respect any religions and said the church in the village was also targeted by the invading Turkish army.

INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS SILENT

Seyide Ishoi concluded by saying the Turkish state is in violation of international agreements: “The invading Turkish state has been disrespecting our identity and our faith, targeting churches and mosques. Why are international organizations silent in the face of these attacks?”
