An international meeting in Geneva brought together representatives from European and Asian countries, as well as international organisations and representatives of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES). During the meeting, it was discussed how appropriate efforts can be made to fight against ISIS and to ensure the complete defeat of the organization.

Bedran Çiya Kurd, Co-Chair of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, who was present at the meeting, spoke to the media on the subject.

Bedran Çiya Kurd said that many fundamental issues were discussed during the meeting regarding the ways to improve efforts in the fight against terrorism, adding: "Military efforts alone are not enough to completely defeat ISIS. The situation of ISIS detainees and their families in northern and eastern Syria is an international case and requires international coordination and co-operation. The international powers must assume their responsibilities and ensure the security of the new training centres for ISIS children raised in the camps with the mentality of violence. Because these people pose a great threat to the world."

Çiya Kurd stressed that the elimination of individuals in the fight against ISIS will not eliminate the problem of the terrorist organisation, pointing to the obstacles in the way of the Autonomous Administration's efforts to fight ISIS due to the invading Turkish state's attacks on the region.

Çiya Kurd noted that these attacks hinder the efforts to fight ISIS, which, he said, benefits from Turkey’s attacks that threaten the security and stability of the region.
