The invading Turkish state continues to impose an aggravated isolation on Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan who is also denied meeting with his family members and lawyers. As the international community maintains their silence against this crime, people from Sheikh Maqsoud neighbourhood of Aleppo condemned the isolation and stated that everyone should struggle for the physical freedom of Öcalan.

‘Turkey will be defeated in Medya Defense Zones as in Sheikh Maqsoud”

Pointing out the 22-year isolation imposed on Öcalan, Mehmud Hec Reşid said, “The Turkish state seeks to prevent the thoughts of the leader Öcalan from spreading. Even though his lawyers and family are denied access to him, his voice spreads all over the world.” Reşid also expressed his reaction to Turkey’s attacks on South Kurdistan and continued, “The Turkish state resorts to all kinds of methods in the war against Kurdish people. It mainly aims to force the Kurdish people to give up their fundamental rights.”

Recalling the Turkish state’s attacks on Sheikh Maqsoud in 2016, he added, “People organised against these attacks and waged a revolutionary war. Everyone defended their land and achievements, and the attacks were frustrated. Turkey will be defeated in Medya Defense Zones as it was in Sheikh Maqsoud.”

‘We will continue to adopt the leader Öcalan’s thoughts’

Narin Hemdo remarked that the capitalist states with common goals attack Kurdish people, saying, “They intend to eliminate the history, culture and existence of the Kurdish people who organised in the frame of the leader Öcalan’s thoughts. They have always called for the fraternity of peoples. We condemn the isolation imposed on the leader. The international community should immediately take action to stop the isolation. No matter what they do, we will determinedly continue to adopt leader Öcalan’s thoughts.”

‘International community becomes accomplice to the crimes’

Stressing that the Turkish state is not able to prevent the leader Öcalan’s thoughts from spreading, Mistefa Mihemed Eli said, “Leader Öcalan has turned the Imralı dungeon into an academy and struggled for all oppressed peoples. The international community remaining silent against the isolation in Imralı becomes an accomplice to this crime. The international forces avoid utterring the truths due to their mutual interests with the Turkish state.”

Mistefa Mihemed Ali called the attacks on Medya Defense Zones unacceptable and continued, “The Turkish state is scared of the national unity of Kurdish people. It intends to annihilate the Kurds entirely. In response to these hostile policies, the Kurds should stand against the occupation with a national unity.”
