Children in Qamishlo reacted to the embargo of the Syrian government and called on the relevant human rights organizations to fulfil their responsibilities to prevent child deaths.
The Children's Protection Committee in North and East Syria made a press statement concerning the embargo imposed by the 4th Brigade of the Syrian army on the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah neighbourhoods and the Shehba Canton.
Dozens of children took part in the press briefing in front of the Ehmed Meryud School in Qamishlo, displaying banners that read "The embargo is killing us" and "The embargo is a special war tool".
The statement read out by a child named Hajin Abdırrehman Mihemed pointed out that the embargo imposed by the Syrian government is gradually getting heavier.
The statement remarked that children were deprived of their right to education due to the embargo. It also reminded that Wîsam Sîdo and Hisên Kîbar froze to death recently because of the embargo.
The statement urged organizations that defend children's rights to fulfil their responsibilities.
