Internationalist fighter Ayşe Deniz Karacagil (Destan Temûz) who was martyred in the operation to liberate Raqqa in the ranks of the MLKP was remembered by her grave on the anniversary of her martyrdom.
MLKP (Marxist Leninist Communist Party) fighter Ayşe Deniz Karacagil who was martyred one year ago in the operation to liberate Raqqa was remembered by her grave in Kobanê. Hundreds of Kobanê residents participated in the ceremony as well as MLKP and YPG (People's Defense Units) fighters.
The ceremony started with a minute’s silence and YPJ Commander Bêrîtan Kobanê, Peoples’ Unity Association Member Bêrîtan Asya and MLKP Commander Şengul Doz gave speeches afterwards. The speeches drew attention to Martyr Destan’s struggle and stated that Martyr Destan resisted in Turkey’s prisons and continued the resistance in the mountains of Kurdistan, and finally she was martyred fighting against ISIS gangs.
After the speeches, people left flowers on Martyr Destan’s grave.
The memorial ended with slogans.
