While security operations were carried out against ISIS mercenaries, one Internal Security Forces member was killed and two others were injured in the attack carried out by ISIS mercenaries in the Kerame region of Raqqa.
In a statement regarding the attack, the General Command of the Internal Security Forces said: “This morning, ISIS mercenaries carried out an armed attack against one of our forces's patrols in the Kerame region between Raqqa and Hesekê. While one of our members was killed in the attack, two others were injured.
The attack took place at a time when security and search operations were underway in the region. ISIS secret cells are trying to buy time by organizing such attacks against our forces.
Our forces blockaded the area after the attack and started work to catch the attackers. Our forces will continue to work to ensure the security of the region.”
