A rally will be organised tomorrow in Kobanê to coincide with the Global Day of Action against Turkish occupation.

A group of politicians, academics, political parties, associations and civilians have called on the people around the world to organise actions.

The Regulatory Committee of Kobanê has confirmed the organisation of the rally to protest against the occupation of Afrin carried out by the Turkish state and its mercenary allies.

Fethi Şevket, a member of the Committee, said that the policies carried out by the occupying Turkish state in the region have caused great damage to these territories and need to be countered.

Another member of the Committee, Ruken Eqil spoke about the importance of joining this rally especially for women.

The meeting point is the Free Women’s Square, where people will gather at 09.30am on Saturday. The rally will then move towards Martyr Egit Square where it will end.

Actions against the Turkish state occupation will take place in many parts of the world on 26 May, Global Action Day against the occupation of Afrin.
