Occupation forces want to block M4 in Northern Syria

The Turkish occupying forces in northern Syria want to occupy and depopulate further parts of the region. Especially the international traffic route M4 is exposed to heavy attacks. 13 people from the civilian population have lost their lives there.

The Turkish army and its Islamist proxies attack people from the villages around Ain Issa in northern Syria on a daily basis. The villages of Hoshan, Kefifa, Qizeli, Shergirak and Xirbetfaris are already occupied, and the Turkish army has established dozens of bases there. Above all, schools have been converted into military bases.

The international traffic route M4 is also under heavy attack. The road is besieged with heavy weapons by the occupying forces. Anyone who has to use the route nevertheless puts their life in danger. Four days ago, a 48-year-old civilian was killed in an attack by jihadists. According to the Omer Eluş hospital, 13 civilians have died on the road and 44 people have been injured since the beginning of the Turkish invasion on October 9 last year. SDF Commander General Mazlum Abdi recently criticized that Turkey is not complying with the ceasefire agreements of October 17 and 23 and that neither the Syrian government nor Russia as the guarantor power is doing anything about it.

Commander Hozan Kobanê spoke to ANHA in Ain Issa about the attacks on the M4. He explained that the Turkish state wants to revive the ISIS and said: "Turkey attacked us after we cleaned al-Baghouz from the last remains of the ISIS. Every opportunity is taken to try to shake the peace and security in the region. The property of the population is plundered in the occupied villages".

The civilian population is intended to be intimidated and expelled, Hozan Kobanê said and continued: "The region is wanted to be depopulated. The people are afraid to use the M4. Many civilians have already been killed on this road. It is intended to be closed for the civilian population. However, we will under no circumstances allow the occupying forces to advance further".
