As part of its regular meetings, the SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) General Command convened a series of meetings with the military councils of Deir ez-Zor region, Hajin, Al-Busayrah, Al-Suar, Al-Kasra, Al-Shaddadi and Al-Terwaziyah.
The meetings were attended by the SDF Commander-in-Chief, Mazloum Abdi, members of the SDF General Command, Rohlat Afrin and Luqman Khalil, as well as commanders and members of the Military Councils in those areas.
SDF Commander-in-Chief Mazloum Abdi initiated the discussion by providing a comprehensive overview of the political and military landscape of the Middle East and its implications for Syria. He emphasized the challenges posed by the resurgence of the terrorist organization ISIS and the continued threats and attacks from the Turkish occupation which helps the terrorist organization in reviving itself again.
During the meetings, the SDF General Command and military councils discussed the security situation in Deir ez-Zor, including terrorist activities by ISIS remnants and Syrian regime-backed militias. Important decisions were made to strengthen defensive lines, intensify security measures, and encourage citizens to join the units in Deir ez-Zor Military Council.
The commanders of Deir ez-Zor military councils presented their work reports, acknowledged shortcomings, and pledged to improve their performance. The Deir ez-Zor Military Council was restructured, with Ayed Turki Al-Khabil (Abu Ali Fulad) appointed as the commander of Deir ez-Zor Military Council, and new members were also elected, Lilwa Al-Abdullah, Nouri Al-Khalil, Beritan Qamishlo and Salim Derik.
For the other Military Councils, Turki Al-Dhari and Firas Al-Daoud were elected to command the Al-Kasra Military Council. Abdul Karim Al-Fandi and Majid Al-Sindi were elected to command the Al-Suar Military Council. Ibrahim Jassim Al-Assi and Ezzedine Ahmed Atallah to command the Hajen Military Council, and Musa Al-Salah and Waddah Al-Mushrif to command the Al-Busayrah Military Council.
