Turkish soldiers in outposts along the Northern Syrian border line continue their systemmic attacks against the peoples of the region. Municipal workers have had to halt efforts for the sewers in the Kaniya Kurda neighborhood along the border line in Kobanê when Turkish soldiers opened fire on them from the outpost positioned right across from the neighborhood.
A neighborhood resident named Ehmed Elo stated that all the waters of the city run through their neighborhood as it lies at a lower rise than the rest of the city, and added: “That’s why there are problems in the sewage system and that affects us.”
Kobanê City Council administrator Salih El Kurdi said they launched efforts to fix the sewage problem in the neighborhood as the summer starts: “As soon as our workers started the efforts, soldiers started to shoot at them from the border. We can’t finish the works now. We started working several times in the past, but we were shot at every time.”
