Turkish invasion and international silence condemned in Qamishlo

People in Qamishlo called for action to stop the brutal attacks and inhuman practices of the Turkish army and jihadist mercenaries under its command.

People of Qamishlo protested the Turkish state’s invasion and crimes in North-East Syria and attacks in other parts of Kurdistan.

Masses joined the demonstration organised by women’s umbrella organization Kongreya Star where they condemned the Turkish invasion and the silence of the international community.

The crowd also paid tribute to PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) Central Committee member Kasim Engin who fell in an air raid of the Turkish army in late May.

The press statement was read by Kongreya Star executive Melica Heyder who denounced the silence of the international community as the attacks of the Turkish state target thousands of people directly.

Describing this silence as “shameful”, Heyder called for action to stop the brutal attacks and inhuman practices of the Turkish army and jihadist mercenaries under its command.
