AFP documents looting in Afrin

After the Turkish regime entered Afrin city center on March 18, they started to loot everything that belongs to the civilians along with their gangs.

The looting of Turkish soldiers and their allied gangs in Afrin have been reported on extensively in the international press. The US, who have been silent since the beginning of the invasion, issued a statement that they are “concerned” after the looting was reported on.

AFP has documented the Afrin invasion with the following photographs.

“On Sunday night, AFP reporters witnessed the men who looted the majority of shops, vehicles, animals and personal belongings leave the city.”

The following photograph was published with the caption, “Before Ankara’s intervention, Afrin was the only region in Syria that was protected from the war and destruction.”
