“Afrin people’s will of resistance will change the balances”

TEV-DEM held public meetings in Afrin’s Sherawa district where residents of Afrin displaced by the Turkish state’s barbaric attacks have settled.

Rojava’s Movement for a Democratic Society (TEV-DEM) held two public meetings in Afrin’s Sherawa district where residents of Afrin displaced by barbaric attacks of the Turkish state and allied gangs have taken shelter.

The public meetings in Eqîbe and Bênê villages of Sherawa were attended by hundreds of people. Following a minute of silence, TEV-DEM official Hesen Koçer commented on the recent developments in the region.

Stressing that several international states are involved in the attacks against Afrin, Koçer said the developments in Syria have entered a new phase with the resistance of the Afrin people against barbaric attacks.

Koçer remarked that the Turkish-backed gangs attacked Afrin after their defeat across Northern Syria, and pointed out the looting perpetrated by the gangs in the city.

Underlining that resistance will continue until Afrin is cleared of gangs, Koçer added; “Turkish intelligence established a council in Antep. If those under this council were Kurds, they would not allow Turkish flags to wave in Afrin and the massacre of the population by the gangs.”
