Arab family forced to migrate by Turkey: “Afrin will be freed"

An Arab family who had to migrate to Shehba due to the genocidal attacks against Afrin said: “Afrin will be freed, and we will return to our homes.”

Hundreds of thousands of citizens of Afrin have had to migrate to the Shehba Canton and the villages of Sherawa due to genocidal attacks by the Turkish state and their allied gangs. The Arab Sîham family is among the hundreds of thousands of people who had to migrate, and say that Afrin will be cleared of barbaric invaders and they will return to Afrin.

The mother Sîham Talih and her family who had to leave Afrin’s Astra village have settled in Shehba. Sîham said they first moved to the villages of Sherawa due to Turkish state bombing on the areas they lived in and that they had to leave those villages when they were subjected to intense bombing once again, travelling all the way to Shehba on foot. The family has had to leave all their possessions behind, and now live with 3 other families in Shehba.

Sîham said they had built a house in their village after years of struggle, and stated that the international community has to take action against the barbaric practices of the Turkish state. Sîham said Afrin is a peaceful region where hundreds of thousands of citizens from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds lived together and added: “Those who could not accept that launched these barbaric attacks. Everybody should know that Afrin will be free and we will return home.”
