Guerrilla actions by the HBDH in the Black Sea region

Guerrillas of the Peoples’ United Revolutionary Movement has carried out actions in the Black Sea region north of Turkey.

According to the joint command of the Peoples’ United Revolutionary Movement (Halkların Birleşik Devrim Hareketi, HBDH), guerrilla actions in Gümüşhane and Giresun have killed several Turkish Army soldiers.

The statement of the HBDH said:

"On July 7, our forces carried out an action against a Turkish military unit in the rural areas of Kürtun district in Gümüşhane province. The number of killed and injured soldiers could not be determined.

On July 8, a unit of Turkish soldiers participating in a military operation on the Kurubelli highland in the Güce district of Giresun province was taken under surveillance and, after prolonged observation, was struck at close range at 5.30 on 9 July. Four soldiers were killed and two others injured in the action, after which the dead and injured were retrieved with armored vehicles and the area was arbitrarily shelled with heavy weapons."
