Thousands rally for Öcalan in Efrin’s Cindires district

People took to the streets for Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan in Cindires district of Efrîn Canton.

Thousands of people joined a march for Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan who is held in aggravated isolation by the Turkish state in İmralı Island High Security Prison.

The march started in front of Cindires Cemetery with demonstrators carrying flags of YPG/YPJ (People’s/Women’s Defense Units), TEV-DEM (Movement for a Democratic Society), Kongreya Star, Rojava Youth’s Union and images of Öcalan, and a banner reading “Öcalan’s freedom is the freedom of all peoples”.

Chanting “Be Serok jiyan nabe” (No Life without the Leader), protesters marched until the village of Yılangozu where a rally was held at the village square.

Speakers Emine Dingili from Kongreya Star, Hesen Birko from Martyrs’ Families Assembly and Ebdulrehman Murad from Syrian Democratic Nation Alliance condemned the aggravated isolation on Öcalan and urged the Turkish state to explain his security and health conditions.
