“Turkey attacked Afrin to give breathing room for ISIS”

Syria Kurdish Left Party administrator Mecîd El-Hisên stated that the Turkish state attacked Afrin to give breathing room to ISIS gangs who were about to be erased from the region by the resistance of SDF, YPG and YPJ forces.

Syria Kurdish Left Party administrator Mecîd El-Hisên spoke about the invading Turkish state’s attacks against Afrin. El-Hisên said the Turkish state’s barbaric attacks against Afrin can never intimidate the peoples of Northern Syria who live in unity and stated that the international community should take action against the invasion.

“THE TURKISH STATE ATTACKED AFRIN TO GIVE BREATHING ROOM FOR ISIS”

El-Hisên said the Turkish state wants to reduce the areas controlled by the YPG/YPJ and SDF forces: “As a result of the struggle of these fighters, ISIS gangs have been confined in a very small area and are almost eradicated from the region. The Turkish state doesn’t want ISIS eradicated from the region, and thus they attacked Afrin to support the gangs and give them breathing room.”

“ERDOĞAN TRIES TO DIVERT ATTENTION TO FOREIGN POLICY”

El-Hisên said the Erdoğan government is going through a rough time in domestic politics and added: “Erdoğan is trying to divert attention to foreign policy to hide his domestic entrapment and the deep issues they have. To that end, he wants to invade Syrian territory.” El-Hisên condemned the Turkish state’s attacks against the peoples of Afrin and called on the international community to hold Turkey to account for the barbaric attacks against civilians.

El-Hisên said the peoples of Northern Syria have created their unity behind the SDF, YPG and YPJ forces and they resist as one, and that the Turkish state’s plans over the region will be voided with this unity.
