Turkish state wants to cut off the Euphrates to dry out Tabqa

The Turkish state continues its inhumane attacks against the peoples of Northern Syria, now planning to dry out the Tabqa region by cutting off the waters of the Euphrates River which all agriculture in Tabqa depends on.

The Turkish state continues its inhumane attacks against the peoples of Northern Syria, and has been planning for a while now to end agriculture in the region by cutting off the waters of the Euphrates River. The low levels of water in the Euphrates River have brought agriculture to a halt in thousands of hectares of arable land in Tabqa.

The Siwêdiyê pumping station that provides water for lentil, wheat and barley fields is no longer able to pump water due to reduced water levels. The center used to pump water for 12 hours a day, but the low flow has caused a reduction in service hours as well.

Farmer Mihemed El-Bedah said they had previously planted wheat but they are now late due to lack of water, and added that the lack of water has impacted regional agriculture greatly.

Farmers Xezal El-Mûsa and Ehemed El-Salim said they are facing great damages due to the lack of water.
