Two little children lose their life in Tabqa Camp

The situation of the refugees is worsening despite the huge efforts of Heyva Sor a Kurd.

Shortage in medical resources have to be considered the cause of the death of two little children in the Tiwêhna Camp, northwest of Tabqa.

Two-year-old Iman Mihemed, who had measles, and two-month-old also Mihemed Mihena El-Helawi, who had jaundiced, lost their lives despite all care provided to them.

Sources stated that conditions of both children had deteriorated and their families and doctors tried to transfer them to other health centres, yet there were no ambulances and the children could not be saved, despite all efforts.

Semihra Seyid, a close relative of Mihemed Mihene, called for the opening of health centres and said: "Our children are faced with death because there are little facilities in the Camp”.

Ehmed Mihemed voiced his sadness and said that there was one health centre in the camp to look after over two thousand people”.

Kurdish Red Crescent Heyva Sor a Kurd and Doctors Without Borders are following the situation of patients in the camp with limited facilities and resources.

Despite the repeated calls to the international community to help alleviate the difficult situation of refugees, not enough aid is coming through.
