YPG releases balance sheet of attacks on Rojava for 5 days

YPG Press Office reported ongoing attacks and violations by the Turkish army and allied gangs on Rojava, Western Kurdistan.

People's Defense Units (YPG) Press Office has released a written statement detailing the ongoing attacks and violations by the Turkish army and allied gangs on Rojava for the last 5 days.

The 5-day balance sheet announced by the YPG Press Office is as follows:

"The Turkish army and gangs operating under their command continue their attacks and violations against Rojava.

On 31.07.2017, gangs affiliated to the Turkish army shelled the villages of Ayn Daqna, Belûniyê and Maranezê with howitzer and tank fire. On the same day, the Turkish army violated the border and crossed into Kobanê soil. The soldiers that intended to set up new emplacements here had to withdraw upon the intervention of our forces.

On 01.08.2017 reconnaissance aircraft of the Turkish army flew over the Maranez region. The same day gangs affiliated to the Turkish army attacked Efrîn’s Shera, Shêrewa and Cindirêsê districts with DShK weapons, and the Ayn Daqnê front with howitzers.

On 02.08.2017, the Turkish army dispatched surveillance aircraft over the villages of Ayn Daqna, Maranezê, al Kamiyê and Belûniyê. The same day, gangs shelled the villages of Malikiyê, Şêwarxa and Ayn Daqna with howitzers at between 01:00 and 03:00. Our forces responded the attacks with heavy weaponry but no clear information could be obtained regarding the number of casualties inflicted on the gangs.

Again the same day, our forces hit the Turkish units that tried to build a road for military purposes in Selim village of Kobanê. The bulldozer of the Turkish army was damaged and rendered inoperable.

On 04.08.2017, gangs operating under the command of the Turkish army attempted to attack the village of Ayn Daqna with a bomb-laden vehicle, but our forces intercepted the attempt and destroyed the vehicle before it could reach its target.

The same day, our forces downed a drone of the gangs and confiscated it.

On the other hand, the Turkish army shelled Ayn Daqna, Belûniyê and Vîla Qadî regions in Efrin's Shera district with howitzers.

Again on the same day, the gangs attacked hill Qestelê with B7 weaponry, the hills of Baz and Barîn in Efrin's Cindirese district with mortars, hill Martyr Shilan with DShK fire, as well as the villages of Maranezê and Ayn Daqna in Efrin's Sera district with BKC and DShK fire."
