HPG reports guerrilla actions in Mardin, Amed and Bitlis

Guerrillas continue their actions against the occupant Turkish army in Kurdistan territory.

The Press Office of People’s Defense Forces (HPG-BIM) released a statement providing information about the guerrilla actions in Mardin, Amed and Bitlis, Turkish army operation in Şırnak and aerial attacks on guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan, northern Iraq.

The statement by HPG-BIM is as follows;

“Within the scope of the Martyr Delal Amed and Besta Martyrs Revolutionary Campaign, on July 15, at 12.50, our guerrilla forces carried out a sabotage action targeting a vehicle belonging to contras heading in the road between Midyat district of Mardin and the Hezex district of Şırnak.

In the action, the vehicle was damaged and the number of dead and wounded contras could not be determined.

On July 12, at 23.30, our forces carried out a sabotage action against the soldiers and contras providing the security of the dam in Amed’s Farqin district. In the action two enemy soldiers were killed while enemy positions were struck effectively.

On July 16, at 05.40, our forces carried out an action against a checkpoint of the occupying Turkish army on the road between Bitlis' Tatvan and Hizan districts. The number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be determined in the action where enemy positions and shelters were struck effectively.

On 14 July, the occupying Turkish army launched an operation in Risor and Navyana Şêxa areas of Şehriban in Şırnak. The operation was withdrawn without any results on July 15.

On 16 and 17 July, the warplanes of the occupying Turkish army carried out bombardment on the Medya Defense Zones. In this context;

On July 16, at 18.00, the village of Golka in the Metina region and on July 17, Geliyê Reş and Ermuş areas in the Xakurke region were bombed.”
