Sevcan Demir (23) and her husband Kenan Danış had a fight prompting their neighbours in the Süleymaniye District in Esenyurt, Istanbul to call the police. The police came to the flat only to leave again as Sevcan Demir did not make any complain against her husband.

One hour after the police had left the flat, Sevcan Demir suspiciously fell from the 4th floor of her flat and was seriously injured.

Health teams made the first intervention to Demir and took her to the nearest hospital. However, the young woman died. Kenan Danış, was taken into custody.

Women attacked and tortured

In Beyoğlu, Istanbul, a man wearing a surgical mask and a hood attacked a 17-year-old Syrian refugee trans woman. The injured trans woman was taken to the hospital. The person who attacked the woman and claimed to be the man she separated from, has not been caught yet.

In Körfez, Kocaeli, Veli Erbaç tortured his wife Ayten Erbaç by locking her in a room and leaving her without food and water for two days. The woman's children shot the image of their mother after the incident. Veli Erbaç was arrested when the images were shared on social media.
