Syrian Women’s Council: Turkey jeopardizes the region

Syrian Women’s Council General Coordinator Lina Berekat called for action to stop Turkey’s attempts to invade the region.

The Syrian Women’s Council held a press conference in Qamishlo city on the Turkish state’s threats of invasion and the Syrian Constitutional Committee.

Speaking at the press conference that was held at the Rojava Center for Strategic Studies office, Syrian Women’s Council General Coordinator Lina Berekat pointed out that no international law had been enforced in the political efforts made for a lasting solution in Syria so far. Berekat remarked that even the Syrian Constitutional Committee purportedly seeking a solution to the Syrian crisis was against international agreements. She emphasized that all the problems in the country should be resolved based on a political perspective within the scope of international agreements.

Lîna Berekat noted that the Committee did not grant women the right of representation.

Warning that the threats of the Turkish state put the region in great jeopardy, Berekat called for action to stop Turkey’s attempts to invade the region.
