DEM Party submits application for the cancellation of elections in Kars

DEM Party Kars organisation applied to the provincial election board for the cancellation of the elections in the city.

The Peoples' Equality and Democratic Party (DEM Party) applied to the provincial election board for the cancellation and renewal of the elections in Kars, where the will of the people was usurped through the use of transported voters. According to the unofficial results, the MHP received 16,384 votes and the DEM Party received 13,120 votes in the elections held in the centre of Kars. While the difference between the two parties was 3,264, the DEM Party determined that 3,842 soldiers and police officers were moved to the city to vote in Sunday’s elections.

In Cumhuriyet, Atatürk and Fevzi Çakmak Secondary Schools, soldiers and police officers brought from outside cast their votes collectively. It was revealed that out of 120 voters registered in the ballot box numbered 1042 at Atatürk Secondary School, all but one of them were registered in other cities. It was determined that 199 of the 120 voters resided in western provinces and one of them was registered in Kağızman district of Kars.
