EU Delegation to Turkey visits DEM Party in Ankara

During a visit to the DEM headquarters in Ankara, EU Ambassador to Turkey, Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, discussed current political and social developments with party co-chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan.

Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, Ambassador and Head of the European Union Delegation to Turkey, visited the headquarters of the DEM Party (Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party) in Ankara with a delegation and talked with the co-chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan as well as other politicians. Both sides announced that the talks centred on an exchange of views on current political and social developments. No further details were disclosed.

Local elections will be held in Turkey on 31 March. The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party is entering the election campaign with the demand to resolve the Kurdish question and put the general issue of democracy back on the agenda.
