The 4th Copenhagen Film Festival, organised jointly by the Denmark Kurdish Students and Academicians Association and Focus-A, started yesterday with an opening ceremony. The movies will be screened in the Cinemarket in Copenhagen and continue until 22 February.
The opening ceremony was attended by over 400 people, including Lars Aslan Rasmussen and Serdal Benli, deputy candidates in the coming elections, as well as journalists Lillian Simonsen and Tommy Flught, and included a music performance by Fahri Dağ. The participants were presented with Kurdish food, and a stand of Heyva Sor â Kurdistane was set up in the entrance hall.
A member of the organising committee, Selçuk Benli, said they expected more participation at the weekend. He added that profits obtained from the festival would be sent to Kurdish people as aid via Heyva Sor â Kurdistane.
