Abdullah Öcalan and Sakine Cansiz volumes at yearly book fair in Quito

The books of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and Sakine Cansiz, one of the founders of the PKK who was murdered in Paris on January 9, 2013, were exhibited at the fair in Quito, Ecuador.

This year, the books of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and Sakine Cansiz (Sara), one of the founders of the PKK, were available in Spanish at the traditional book fair held every year in Quito, the capital of Ecuador.

The three-day fair, organized with the participation of 10 publishing houses every year, was organized in the El Utero cultural center this year due to the first spring rains.

Seminars and panels could not be held at the fair due to the Covid epidemic, and authors only attended the fair for interviews.

The cultural center where the fair was held, was decorated with banners demanding his freedom and protesting the isolation imposed on him.

As the fair coincided with Newroz, the Kurds in Quito celebrated by lighting a fire near the fair area.
