Artist Xelîl Xemgîn tested positive for coronavirus on 17 May 2021. He was in hospital for four and a half months and was eventually discharged.

Doctors said the artist should continue to observe a period of rest at home. Xelîl Xemgîn was greeted with great joy by his artist friends. There were emotional moments during the encounter.

Expressing his gratitude to everyone who cared about him and stood by him, the artist said: “I am very happy to have friends like you. As a member of the Kurdish people, I thank you for not leaving me alone and for constantly asking about me.”
