This week in Caracas, Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan's book 'Capitalist Civilization: The Age of Unmasked Gods and Naked Kings' was presented in its Spanish version.
The first book of Öcalan translated into Spanish is the 'Origins of Civilization' that was presented in Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay last year. After the second one, 'Capitalist Civilization', three more books of the Kurdish leader will be made available and published in Spanish in the coming period.
Sivan Zerdesti of the National Congress of Kurdistan, who over the past six years has been in charge of translations into Spanish of the writings of Öcalan, did a presentation of Öcalan's first and second books in Spanish version.
Sivan also spoke of the natural richness and underground treasures of Kurdistan, and of the ethnic, religious and cultural history of the Kurds, who are now embroiled in the intention of building "solutions of peace".
'Origins of Civilization' and 'Capitalist Civilization: The Age of Unmasked Gods and Naked Kings' will also be presented on Monday, May 15 in Bogota. The presentation will held at the National Pedagogical University, 73 Street # 15-53. Gabriel Betancourt Cultural Center, Bogota.
During the conference, Melike Yasar, representative of the Kurdistan Women's Movement for Latin America, and Sivan Zerdesti, member of the National Congress of Kurdistan, will speak.
The presentation is organized by the Popular Urban Summit, the Human Rights Observatory of the National Pedagogical University and the Peoples' Congress.
According to the Argentine political scientist and sociologist Atilio Borón, who wrote the prologue of the first two books, the works of Öcalan "allow readers to look at the socialist and anti-imperialist tradition, feminist and anti-state, community and environmentalist Kurdish people".
The presentation tour that continues this Monday in Bogotá, will then take place in Ecuador, Mexico, and then in Argentina and Uruguay. This reinforces the bridge between the international struggles of the world the Kurdish people that have been carrying out a struggle for many years, as one of the fundamental pillars.
