HPG: 1 Turkish soldier killed, 2 army positions destroyed

The Turkish Air Force has bombed guerrilla areas in South Kurdistan over thirty times since Tuesday. The guerrillas are continuing their resistance and have destroyed enemy positions. One soldier was killed and others were injured.

The Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla is continuing its resistance against the Turkish invasion in the Medya Defense Areas.

According to the Press Center of the People's Defense Forces (HPG), various guerrilla actions have taken place in the regions of Zap, Xakurke and Metîna over the past two days.

The Turkish Air Force has bombed the guerrilla areas over thirty times since Tuesday.

The HPG provided the following details of the war:

Western Front in Zap

In the Girê Cûdî area, a Turkish soldier was killed in a sniper attack on Tuesday. On the same day, the Free Women's Units (YJA Star) carried out an attack with heavy weapons on Turkish troops in the area.

In Girê Amêdî, Turkish soldiers were also attacked several times with heavy and semi-automatic weapons on Tuesday and Wednesday. The guerrillas destroyed an enemy position and stopped several attempts to advance. Three soldiers were wounded.

In the Girê FM resistance area, the guerrillas intervened on Wednesday with an act of sabotage against soldiers who wanted to use prohibited explosives against a tunnel.

Xakurke, Metîna and Heftanîn

In the Heftanîn region, a Turkish position in the Girê Şehîd Hêmin area was destroyed on Tuesday by repeated shelling with heavy weapons. In Şêlazê in the Metîna region, the guerrillas shot down a small drone on Tuesday and stopped an advance by Turkish troops.

In addition, the HPG reported that YJA Star fighters used heavy weapons on 1 September to stop the felling of trees in the Xantur area in Heftanîn. One soldier was injured in the attack.

Attacks by the Turkish army

A guerrilla tunnel in the Girê FM area has been attacked five times with prohibited explosives in the past two days. The tunnel system on the western front in Zap has been attacked daily with banned weapons, including chemical weapons, for four months.

The Medya Defense Areas have been bombed 28 times by fighter jets since 10 September. The targets were the areas of Şehîd Şerîf, Sinînê, Girê Qele, Lolan, Berbizinê, Girê Mesken and Kendekola in Xakurke, Deşta Kafya and Girê in Gare, Bêşîlî, Serê Metîna and Şêlazê in Metîna and Girê Bahar in Zap.

Three further air strikes on areas in Xakurke and Metîna were carried out with attack helicopters.
