KDP's perception operation against Rojava

Before the Iraqi PM Kadhimi's visit to Ankara, KDP launched a dirty perception operation against Rojava claiming "YPG attacked the Peshmerga". Masrour Barzani kicked off two days ago the perception operation which received full appreciation from Turkey.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), which has intensified its black propaganda and perception operations against Rojava and the Kurdish Freedom Movement simultaneously with the Turkish state, claimed that "the YPG attacked the Peshmerga".

The Deputy Minister of Peshmerga, Serbest Lezgin, held a press conference attended only by KDP media outlets, claiming that "YPG attacked a Peshmerga point from the Rojava-Bashur border".

YPG denied the allegation and released an official statement on Thursday calling for the "abandonment" of these agressive policies by the Kurdistan regional administration officials.

THERE IS NO YPG IN THE REGION

In addition, YPG, YPJ and SDF forces do not exist in the region in accordance with the Sochi agreement dated October 22, 2019 since the Sihêla region of Dêrik, where KDP's Lezgin claims YPG attacked, is located at a depth of 30 kilometers the border with Turkey.

The KDP media, which claimed that the KDP "YPG attacked the Peshmerga" and "clashes took place" in the region, withdrew its news upon the reactions and started to report the news as "PKK and YPG attacked Peshmerga in Sihêla.”

MASROUR BARZANI TALKS TO RAYBURN

This perception operation of the KDP's Serbest Lezgin and the KDP media is in line with the remarks of Southern Kurdistan Prime Minister Masrour Barzani made in a phone call with Special Envoy for Syria in the U.S. State Department, Joel Rayburn two days ago.

MASROUR BARZANI GAVE GO-AHEAD TO THE PERCEPTION OPERATION

In his phone call with Rayburn, Masrour Barzani is reported have claimed that "the PKK attacked the Peshmerga in Amadiya", that "the PKK organized the popular protests in Southern Kurdistan" and that "the military aid to the SDF provided by the coalition forces are delivered to the PKK".

It is worthy of note that the KDP media put forward the allegations that "YPG attacked the Peshmerga" and "PKK and YPG attacked Peshmerga in Sihêla" successively right after these statements of Masrour Barzani, who came up with similar arguments as the Turkish state.

Since September, the KDP has been embarking on a military build-up on the Rojava border, digging new trenches and building outposts. Furthermore, the KDP deployed a large number of troops and heavy weapons to the region, and installed thermal cameras at the border line.

FUAD HISIN OF KDP WENT TO ANKARA BEFORE KADHIMI

It is noteworthy that Iraq's KDP Foreign Minister Fuad Hisen was in Ankara at a time when the KDP claimed that "YPG and PKK attacked the Peshmerga" and met with Turkish Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu.

ÇAVUŞOĞLU RELIEVED!

In the meeting Çavusoglu said that “In Syria, the PKK, YPG- after all these are same organizations, it doesn't matter what name they bear- began to attack our Kurdish brothers who do not obey them" and "Turkey will give all its support to remove the PKK from Iraq".

KDP's Fuad Hisen stated that the Shengal agreement was discussed in the meeting and added "the agreement is very important for the region as well as for Iraq".

PROVOCATION BEFORE THE VISIT OF KADHIMI

Fuad Hisen's meeting in Ankara and the KDP's provocation "YPG and PKK attacked the Peshmerga" prompted concerns before Iraqi Prime Minister Mistefa Kadhimi's visit to Ankara today.

The perception operation and disinformation targeting Rojava and the Kurdish Freedom Movement is coordinated by the KDP and Turkish state officials and media.
